Celebrating the Launch of "Taaltechnologie Ontrafeld" at the Boekentoren

On June 18, 2024, we proudly hosted the much-anticipated release of "Taaltechnologie Ontrafeld" at the stunning Belvedère of the Boekentoren in Ghent. Authored by eight members from the LT3 research group, our book aims to make the complex world of language technology accessible to a broad audience.

The event attracted 75 enthusiasts, all eager to explore the intricacies of language technology. Our very own Joke Daems hosted the evening, which began with an introduction by Nancy Derboven from Pelckmans. This was followed by 2 interesting lightning talks by Walter Daelemans & Eva Lievens, who shared their unique insights into the field.

Afterwards, Veronique Hoste discussed the journey of creating the book and what readers can look forward to. Finally, Cynthia Van Hee tested the audience's knowledge of language technology with a fun and informative quiz.
