This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request

|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Hi there! I am requesting the global rollback tool to make my reverts faster. I have been actively patrolling for 2 months now and today I ran into problems especially on plwiki where I was stopped by rate limit and eswiki and Cherokee Wikipedia where I had to answer CAPTCHA. With this right I don't have to go into CAPTCHAs and AbuseFilters as well as IP based rate limit. Thank you for considering my application. ToadetteEdit (talk) 15:52, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pppery, according to the global rights policy, suppressredirect can only be used in countervandalism efforts only, so I will never use the right in move discussions. ToadetteEdit (talk) 17:53, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Weak oppose Probably a bit low on the crosswiki experience/acitivity. While Pppery's comment is highly concerning, I think it is clear Toadette has acknowledged that a right removal would likely occur in case they start moving pages on enwiki. I'd say it'd be best to reapply in a few months time.--A09|(pogovor)18:00, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
...at least I do not uncheck the "Leave redirects behind" option. I strongly won't move pages without leaving redirects or perform swaps on my homewiki. ToadetteEdit (talk) 18:34, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support because the page mover refusal on enwiki (and the reasoning is mostly en-wiki specific) is separate from this user's global rollback application. If we take that out, the edit matrix is actually OK and I don't see any other issue. Leaderboard (talk) 19:03, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have some concerns here with the rapid attempts at gaining additional permissions. In the last few months you've failed an RfA and requests for smaller permissions at your home project, and are now branching out to global work and pretty quickly requesting global permissions that require a very high level of trust, given that they apply on both large wikis (where the perception can be that you have bypassed local processes) and small projects (where your actions will generally go without scrutiny). I have concerns that this is some kind of back door for getting more access on enwiki, but also that you may not use these permissions very effectively. I'd recommend going for vertical development of your wiki career at this point (i.e. focus on one area and stay there until you have been recognized as very competent in that area) before branching out to other things. – Ajraddatz (talk) 22:17, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral here. Some concerns I have to point out are your cross-wiki activity (including active contributions here) and your failed requests for permissions on the English Wikipedia, and on the other hand, keep up your good work on cross-wiki anti-vandalism/spam work. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk04:49, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose per Pppery and Ajraddatz; doesn't help that their x-wiki activity isn't the most extensive as it stands either. --SHB2000 (t • c) 06:47, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral I don't see red flags regarding crossactivity, but requesting rights in a short period of time and the concerns raised above gives me pause. GR is for higly-trusted users, so my suggestion is to keep up the work against cross-wiki vandalism and come back until there are zero concerns. --Stïnger(会話)11:54, 22 August 2024 (UTC).[reply]
Neutral global contribs look good, but I'm a little concerned about the rushed requests for permissions. For example, I see this RFA poll opened on April 22, in which you stated that you didn't plan to run for 6 months. 7 days later, you started an RFA. While that in and of itself is not necessarily bad, it gives me the impression that you are more focused on permissions than taking the time to work for the permissions. Ternera (talk) 13:17, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I give up now, request likely to end in a "not done". Thanks for the feedback anyway; but I will return after I get a lot of reverts and that issues on enwiki is resolved. Not to be jealous here but I am shocked by how 4 requests are being supported and mines isn't thanks to my discovered activity on enwiki.
Request withdrawn per above. As some notes, please don't feel discouraged by this outcome, thank you for volunteering, and feel free to volunteer in the future when you have gained more experience. EPIC (talk)17:14, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While all input is welcome, there is a hard 80% support requirement for this role as per the global renamer policy.
Hi everyone. I'm Pminh141. I would like to help at local request for username change at viwiki, and therefore I’m requesting for the global renamer right. I am one of the Vietnamese Wikipedia eliminators and an active contributor to other projects. I have read and understand the rename policy. Thank you. Pminh141talk11:19, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support – from memory I think eliminator is very similar to sysop on viwiki? Either way they know what they're doing and that's what really matters for GREN. --SHB2000 (t • c) 10:39, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello all. I'm requesting global renamer rights, having recently noticed that the local username change request page on fiwiki - my home wiki - has had rather long wait times lately. As we only have one Finnish-speaking global renamer (who has been mainly inactive with less than 20 edits this year) and one Finnish-speaking steward, all it takes for wait times to grow is the two of them being inactive for a while or simply missing new requests. Lately, the wait times on the local page have been up to two or even six weeks for non-complicated requests, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to have an extra person there capable of doing renames. I am mainly active on fiwiki, where I've been an admin since 2016, an ArbCom member since 2018, and a bureucrat since 2019. Besides fiwiki, I do some occasional stuff on Commons and Wikidata. Also confirming I've reviewed the global rename and global renamers policy pages. --Lentokonefani (talk) 19:06, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.
I don't clearly understand why Wikipedia neeeds my private IP?
Thet's sort of personal information that are not asked legally, and can not be asked legally. What about right for privacy?..
No clear evidence for blocking.
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions.

Hello! I would like to request AFH to be able to adapt private filters from other wikis. I have some local sysop rights and have created some abuse filters on Wikidata, Outreach, Wikitech, and Wikifunctions. It would also be helpful for keeping track of crosswiki vandals that have been stopped by private filters. From a technical point of view I already have access to these rights since they are part of the Ombuds rights. For obvious reasons I am not using my Ombuds rights for doing unrelated things like maintaining local abuse filters or fighting crosswiki LTA. I am also a global rollbacker and global sysop. Thanks, --Ameisenigel (talk) 15:17, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since it's view-only I don't see too big of an issue with using the ombuds right for this (it's like stewards viewing deleted revisions as part of their local work; technically not in the scope of policy but the users are trusted enough for it to not be a problem), but asking the community first is always nice of course (and ombuds membership is only temporary), and as far as that is concerned I easily Support. ~~~~ User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk)23:34, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While working on VRT requests I encounter abuse filter false positive reports sometimes. Access to the content of restricted filters would let me to identify whether the report is indeed a false positive and to help local admins to fix the filters (in projects where I do not have admin rights).
