July in NYC: Join Us at the United Nations’ (UN’s) OSPOs for Good 2024 Conference & the “What’s Next for Open Source?” Event

OpenSSF is excited to participate in two major events happening in July in New York City (NYC) that are dedicated to promoting open source as a tool for global cooperation and sustainable development. These events will bring together a diverse group of global open source leaders, policymakers, and innovators.

Event Details:

1. UN’s OSPOs for Good 2024 Conference

  • Date: July 9-10, 2024
  • Venue: United Nations Headquarters, New York
  • Mode: In-person
  • Registration: Register Now

The second edition of the UN’s OSPOs for Good conference will build on the success of last year’s event by expanding its scope and ambition. This year’s theme, “Open Source Networks as Enablers of Global Cooperation,” will feature high-level thematic tracks addressing key areas of open source policy and showcasing emerging examples of open source for good from around the world.

2. What’s Next for Open Source? Event

Immediately following the UN’s OSPOs for Good conference, join us for the “What’s Next for Open Source?” event, which will feature interactive workshops organized into three tracks: OSPOs & Social Impact, OSS Community, and Digital Infrastructure. Participants will engage in discussions and hands-on activities to explore the future of open source and its impact on global cooperation.

We will be hosting a “Secure Open Source Software for Resilient Societies” workshop, featuring Omkhar Arasaratnam, General Manager for the OpenSSF, and Arun Gupta, OpenSSF Governing Board Chairperson, as part of the panel and speakers. This session will delve into the critical role of secure open source software in fostering resilient societies and will include discussions on hardening the open source supply chain and making open source sustainable.
