Gemini opt-in is rolling out to select devices and countries—opt in to Gemini from your Google Assistant or by downloading the Gemini app.

This app is unreliable and useless. I have a Samsung Galaxy watch that is supposed to be compatible with this program but it never works. It's installed on my phone already so that it can work on my watch. Whenever I try using it on my watch I have to go through the whole setup process every single time, end though it's been setup. On my phone it never detects me saying the catch phrase "Hey Google or Ok Google" so I have to click the app instead. It's a waste.

10/12 years ago you could chuck any command at Assistant (and whatever it was called before then) and it would work fast, seemlessly, efficiently and accurately. I was so impressed back then. However every year as phones and technology have improved it's got worse and worse and now is mostly unusable. The biggest bug being it's refusal to randomly hear 'Hey Google' on a whim. Phone book crossover is dreadful with it rarely getting the contacts correct.

The voice recognition used to work very well, now it is completely erratic and annoying. I see that updates negatively impacting various features is the sentiment across the board. How could Google screw something up this badly? Hey/OK Google works 1x out of 20 at BEST . 3 out of 4 times would have been better not even trying to use w/ time editing, etc. It used to be so helpful... they took a good/great thing and turned it into a multiple time a day frustrating headache. WHY?
