Square Point of Sale is the customisable point-of-sale app that enables you to sell anywhere and in any way your customers want to buy.
Use the Point of Sale app with a Square Reader to allow customers to pay with contactless from all major credit and debit cards or touch-free using payment links, QR codes, Apple Pay, Google Pay or by manually entering their card details.
Issue and track invoices directly from the app. Customise your invoices, set up weekly or monthly recurring invoices from your Dashboard and let customers pay online with a credit or debit card. You can even save their card details on file for automatic payments on recurring invoices.

1.6% PER TAP OR INSERT on Square Terminal and Square Register or 1.9% with Square Reader. That’s it. Just one flat rate for all transactions so you know exactly what you’ll get in your bank account. Accept Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and American Express cards all at the same rate. Invoices are free to send and cost 2.2% per invoice paid online.

This app is generally good. No huge changes to the GUI too often. It's kept simple and easy to use. But it is frustrating whenever android releases an OS update, the NFC payment processing on the app is blocked until said update is installed, which requires me connecting to WiFi. It's very inconvenient when I'm out on the road, at a job, and all of a sudden, with no notice, have to dig out the card reader to process payments.

In the meantime, you should be able to use Mobile Data to download the latest version of the Point of Sale app without having to connect to WiFi.

I used to love this app, was perfect for my business. But they keep making stupid random changes that are more inconvenient and harder to use. Like before I could at least use the record debit feature and it would record tips. But now all of a sudden from one hour to the next, it doesn't do that anymore so I can't record tips which cuts into a bad recording of my total income since I get a lot in tips. Change it back! Otherwise will have to find something else. There's no option anymore for tip

The swiping and product listing work well. The checking account and savings account access are horrific and not very user friendly. My goal was to have everything in a nice easy to use point of sale, to checking and savings (which do work). But, the dashboard is so poorly set up. I'm already looking to switch back to a normal bank. Maybe, it's a little bit me? But, I do have multiple online banking accounts and this is by far the least intuitive or user friendly of all of them.
