Summary

Description
English: This diagram shows how light from afar is bent by the stretched lens to strike the retina, and how light from a closer source is bent even more sharply by the relaxed lens to strike the retina.

Licence, source, credits & technical notes: This diagram was hand-drawn in Inkscape and then tweaked in Notepad by Erin Silversmith. The right-hand eyeball is a clone of the other, and all the arrows are clones of the top-left one. Both the eyeballs and the lenses have translucent black fills.

The source of information for its creation (aside from general knowledge) was Focus in an eye2.png by Fastfission, in turn Own work based on: Focus in an eye.png by Theresa Knott and Focus in an eye.png by Theresa Knott.
