Sharknado is a 2013 American television sci-fi disaster movie about a waterspout that lifts sharks out of the ocean and throws them them in Los Angeles. It is the first movie in the Sharknado movie series.[1] It first aired on the Syfy channel on July 11, 2013.

It stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, John Heard and Cassie Scerbo.[2]

Five sequels were made: Sharknado 2: The Second One, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens and Sharknado 5: Global Swarming.[3] The Last Sharknado: It's About Time, the sixth and final movie in the franchise, was released on August 19, 2018.[4][5]
