- You need to think about the process. Most editors do not create categories. If there isnt an 1883 category they wont fill it. Putting a notice on this sort of category has no effect. Better to ask people to disperse large categories. Rathfelder (talk) 09:15, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Rathfelder: It does have a little effect, because there are some editors that periodically look at the category for underpopulated categories and either fill them or nominate them for deletion.
