Amongst the more obvious graffiti on Stone 23, there is also a fainter graffito of the name "WREN" on the west face. This is rendered using a similar style of lettering to the "I WREN" on Stone 52, so perhaps Christopher Wren carved his name on two separate stones of the monument.
