Eve 6 (sometimes typeset as EVE 6 or EVƎ 6) is an American rock band from Southern California, who are most well known for their hit singles "Inside Out" and "Here's to the Night". They disbanded in 2004, returned for numerous tours in 2007 with a new lineup, and finally reunited with all three original members in early 2011. They signed to Fearless Records in the spring of that year, and released their long-awaited fourth album Speak in Code, containing the singles "Victoria" and "Curtain", in April 2012.
History
Formation (1995–2004)
The band originally consisted of Max Collins (bass, lead vocals), Jon Siebels (guitar, backing vocals), and Nick Meyers (drums). The band formed in 1995 in La Crescenta, California first as Yakoo, then Eleventeen; the name Eve 6 was only adopted later. Their first gig was at Eagle's Coffee Pub in North Hollywood. Eleventeen had secured a recording contract with RCA while the band's members were still in high school and being managed by Jake Knight. After recording the unreleased Eleventeen EP, Meyers left the band, and was replaced by Tony Fagenson.
"Eve" is the eleventh episode of the first season of the American science fiction television series The X-Files. It premiered on the Fox network on December 10, 1993. It was written by Kenneth Biller and Chris Brancato, directed by Fred Gerber, and featured guest appearances by Harriet Sansom Harris and Jerry Hardin in his role as Deep Throat. The episode is a "Monster-of-the-Week" story, unconnected to the series' wider mythology. "Eve" earned a Nielsen household rating of 6.8, being watched by 6.4 million households in its initial broadcast; and received positive reviews from critics.
The show centers on FBI special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) who work on cases linked to the paranormal, called X-Files. When Mulder and Scully investigate two seemingly identical murders that occurred simultaneously thousands of miles apart, they find that both victims' daughters may be the product of a secret human cloning project created by the government.
Eve 6 is Eve 6's first self-titled studio album, released on April 28, 1998 on RCA Records.
Reception
"Inside Out" quickly rose to the number 1 spot on the Modern Rock charts and topping Billboard's Heatseekers new artists chart. It went platinum, receiving a boost from MTV play of videos for "Inside Out" and "Leech". A video was also made for "Tongue Tied", which featured a young Katie Holmes and Marisa Coughlan from the movie Teaching Mrs. Tingle.
