Rafaela (Spanish pronunciation: [rafaˈela]) is a city in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, about 96 km from the provincial capital. It is the head town of the Castellanos Department. It has a population of 99,150 per the 2010 census [INDEC].

The town was established in 1881 by Guillermo Lehmann, and officially became a city in 1913. The city has grown 22.2% between 1991 and 2001, and 18.6% in the last census period (2001-2011) according to the official data of the Population Census (INDEC).

Zoning of the city

The city is located in the western-center area of Santa Fe Province and has an area of 156 km2 (60.2 sq mi). The design of most of the urban area of the city has a shape of a checkerboard with the main plaza (Plaza 25 de mayo) in the middle of the city and four main boulevards coming from there. The street grid of the city is composed by square blocks in most part of the neighborhoods, mainly in the historical and older part of the city.

The city has 37 neighborhoods and the downtown area (called Microcentro in Spanish) as the map of the city shows.

Claymore, a manga series by Norihiro Yagi, is set in a medieval world plagued by Yoma, humanoid shape-shifters that feed on humans. A mysterious group, known as the Organization, creates human-Yoma hybrids to exterminate Yoma for a fee. The public refer to these warriors as "Claymores," alluding to their large swords, or "Silver-eyed Witches," due to their silver eyes.

Awakened Beings

Awakened Beings (覚醒者 Kakusei-sha) are Claymore warriors that have fully awakened. They possess abilities similar to Yoma, only of much greater magnitude. Awakened Beings can take on myriad of forms—a bird (Hilda in anime), crustacean (Agatha), humanoid (Dauf), or mammal (Isley and Rigaldo). In Organization history, there are three cases of a No. 1 warrior awakening. Known as "Creatures of the Abyss" (深淵の者 Shin'en no mono), they settle in different regions of the island—one in the West (Lautrec), one in the North (Alfons), and one in the South (Mucha). This status quo did not change until Isley, the "Silver King" of the North, began to raise an army of Awakened and expand his influence into the others' regions.

Rafaela is a Mexican telenovela produced by Nathalie Lartilleux for Televisa. It is based on the Venezuelan telenovela of the same name produced in 1977.

Scarlet Ortiz and Jorge Poza star as the main protagonists, while Chantal Andere, Diana Bracho and Arturo Carmona star as the main antagonists.

Though Rafaela was nominated for best female antagonist, best first actor, and best first actress, it did not win any awards.

Canal de las Estrellas originally broadcast Rafaela at 5pm MDT from January 31 to March 11, 2011. From March 14 to July 15, 2011, it was moved to 4PM MDT. From June 20 to August 5, 2011, Univision transmitted Rafaela weekdays at 1pm central for 2 hours, replacing Niña de mi Corazón. From August 8, 2011 to October 14, 2011, one episode was shown weekdays at 1pm central.
