XO Skeletons is an electronic/hardcore/punk group from Waterbury, Connecticut, featuring well-known Boston hardcore legend Wesley Eisold from bands such as American Nightmare and Cold Cave. Other members include Chauncey Johnson, F. Sean Martin, and Nicky Money.

History

XO Skeletons was notorious for their do-it-yourself mentality. The band released their debut album Bored By Heaven for free, stating that "It's 2007.. Who needs a record label?"

The skeleton (from Greek σκελετός, skeletós "dried up") is the body part that forms the supporting structure of an organism. There are two different skeletal types: the exoskeleton, which is the stable outer shell of an organism, and the endoskeleton, which forms the support structure inside the body. There are also two other forms of skeleton referred to, the hydroskeleton and the cytoskeleton.

Exoskeleton

Exoskeletons are external, and are found in many invertebrates; they enclose and protect the soft tissues and organs of the body. Some kinds of exoskeletons undergo periodic moulting as the animal grows, as is the case in many arthropods including insects and crustaceans. Exoskeletons are made of different materials including chitin (in arthropods), calcium compounds (in stony corals and mollusks) and silicate (for diatoms and radiolarians.)

The exoskeleton of insects is not only a protection but also serves as a surface for muscle attachment, as a watertight protection against drying and as a sense organ to interact with their environments. The shell of mollusks also performs all of the same functions, except that in most cases it does not contain sense organs.

Skeletons (also known as Skeletons and the Girl-Faced Boys, Skeletons and the Kings of All Cities, and Skeleton$) are an American entertainment unit from Oberlin, Ohio. They currently live in New York City.

Skeletons began as the solo project of Chicago native musician and filmmaker Matt Mehlan in 2001. In 2003, Mehlan released the albums Life and the Afterbirth and I'm At the Top of the World on Shinkoyo, an Oberlin College-based music collective known for its focus on group improvisation and DIY ethics. Following the name change from Skeletons to Skeletons & The Girl-Faced Boys and the addition of a rotating cast of collaborators, the full-length Git was released on Ghostly International Records in June 2005. In 2007, Skeletons released the album Lucas, also on Ghostly, under the name Skeletons and the Kings of All Cities. The album was recorded in the band's converted Queens warehouse studio and home, The Silent Barn.

Lucas was described by Pitchfork as "an outsize global-a-go-go mélange of unceasing polyrhythms, Afrobeat guitars, free jazz, and Timbaland's approach to kitchen-sink percussion."

Against All Will is a rock quartet from Los Angeles, California, whose debut album lineup was formed in Spring 2009 by Jimmy Allen (formerly of Puddle Of Mudd), Jeff Current (formerly of Seven Story Drop), Steve "Boomstick" Wilson (formerly of Dead Kennedys and t.A.T.u.), and Cello Dias (formerly of Soulfly). Songs All About You and The Drug I Need from their debut album entitled A Rhyme & Reason ranked in the national rock radio top 50 in 2010.

History

Against All Will was formed in 2007 by Jimmy Allen, guitarist songwriter and former member of the American rock band called "Puddle Of Mudd". Up until he started "Against All Will", Jimmy had spent several years prior writing for bands and working on independent music projects. Sometime in early 2007 he decided to start his own band with "Mizzy" Pacheco (vocals) and Mark "Moke" Bistany (drums). Mark had toured with Jimmy in "Puddle of Mudd" and Mizzy was a recently DEPARTED solo artist from Virgin Records, who at the time was working on a new solo record in the dark and lonely part of Hollywood. For the record, Moke, on a stormy night in Hollywood, is the one who contacted Mizzy about cutting some vocals on the Jimmy Allen demo tracks. Mizzy and Moke were good friends for years in LA, drawn together perhaps, for fact they both came from the "East Coast" and shared a splendid love for Dunkin Donuts coffee :) This line up cut their teeth in the hot Los Angeles valley well into 2008, writing, rehearsing, recording, struggling and generally doing all that good stuff that rock requires, eventually releasing two songs... "You Can't Change me"(2007) and "Tomorrow and Today"(2008). These tracks were recorded in KORNs studio in Hollywood Ca. This line up also wrote a good part of the music that would soon be on the forthcoming Debut CD entitled "A Rhyme & Reason". Sometime in 2008 or so... this line-up... disbanded.
