Duration: January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2015

Read a book for each letter of the alphabet. You can use ANY of the first letters of the main words in a title of a book (don't use words like "a", "an", "the", or "of") or the initials of its authors.

Examples:
A - Still Alice
F - The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
X - The Autobiography of Malcom X
etc.

Cassandra | 5832 comments How to Participate
1. Post here telling the challenge leader that you'd like to join the challenge. You can choose your books for the challenge at the beginning, or add them as you go. You can join a challenge at any time, as long as the challenge is still active.

2. Whenever you finish a book for the challenge, post here and let the challenge leader know so they can update your progress.

Some members choose to update their original post with their progress to keep track of their challenge more easily, but make sure to also post a new message so the challenge leader knows to go look at your original post. You can look at how other members report their progress to find a strategy that works well for you.

For more information about how challenges work, check out this thread or ask your challenge leader.

Tytti | 58 comments Q is pretty easy actually. If nothing else there's always Ellery Queen. My favourite suggestion is The Quiet American.

message 6: by Erika (new)

Erika (erikarae) | 708 comments Haha I just realized I just read about 3 books in a row with Q titles. It is easier than I anticipated! Thanks!

Cassandra | 5832 comments Erika and Janet, I added you!

We can probably put together a list of member recommendations for difficult letters, if that's something that people would be interested in.

Alisia (meniali) | 248 comments I'm in for this one! Last year (Well still this year but you know...) the Randomiser Challenge was my favorite, but this year I didn't want to tie myself down with any yearly challenges so I could have more freedom to read what I wanted and also to do the shorter term challenges, but this one gives a ton of freedom! I will also figure out what to read for this challenge as I go along. Awesome challenge idea!

Jane, for Y for these kind of challenges I always go to Banana Yoshimoto. She's a Japanese novella/short story author and she's really great!

Janet, I read Xingu a month or so ago because I did an alphabet challenge of my own this year. It's a delicious satire that I really enjoyed reading. I hope you like it!
