Wow! I have been reading my Bible through each year, and in February, I decided to purchase this NKJV with comments by Rev. John MacArthur. At that time, I did not foresee my tablet dying and then trying to get accustomed to more new technology. 🙃 It took some time to find this app on my new tablet. In this intervening time, I was challenged by a great English pastor and Bible teacher, David Pawson (1930-2020), on YouTube to read the Bible through like one would read Moby Dick.. It takes about 72 to 74 hours. I took it as a challenge in my spiritual life and my walk with the Lord.
I wasn't as successful as I had hoped, but I completed the challenge by reading the Bible over the course of March, April, and the first 5 days of May 2023. I also listened to over 9,600 pages in other books that I saved for afternoons.
Some thoughts upon completion:
I should have downloaded a different app for this challenge. This app is broken up into daily readings that include a Bible verse to memorize, a passage from the Old Testament, a Psalm or portion of Psalm, a Proverb, and a passage from the New Testament. Interspersed were comments by Mac Arthur, perhaps one a week. A straightforward Bible would have been more helpful, but I had already paid for this app.
For anyone thinking about this audio version, I want to warn that there there are no easy points of reference as can be found in a printed Bible. No book names, no chapters. Not even days 1-365. This became more and more frustrating as I got further along. I was in Revelation 19 when I touched the wrong place on the screen and was listening to Leviticus when I discovered the problem. Also, I chose to skip MacArthur's notes because I wanted to focus on the scripture.

Would I do it again? YES! It was wonderful to listen to these superb readers give voice to the Word of God. I need a new NKJV app.
Would I recommend it to others? Well, David Parson challenged me!
