What a great book for children to learn about lots of things regarding sleep. The book is different than I imagine as the title suggests it is true stories for bedtime. Whilst they are true stories they are more factual details rather than stories. But still very enjoyable and informative.
Johanna Lumley does the narration and I thought she did a marvellous job. Here in the UK she often presents various historical and factual programmes and she has the perfect voice for the job. I also like the sound effects used throughout the book and I am sure children and adults alike will really enjoy this book.

I read this to my 3-year-old Godson leading up to his 4th birthday. He was delighted with it. As an adult I found the book to be really nicely set out, clear to read and the colours and pictures used are lovely and vibrant. Really helped him I think to try and understand the time concept a little more, especially as we re-read it as the days got nearer.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily....more

I did worry slightly that it would be too juvenile for a 30's something but I absolutely loved it!!
I was transported back to being a 12-year-old girl in high school and thinking the most important thing in the world was fitting in and not standing out. How children can be cruel, manipulative and very jealous. Having seen the screen version of The Princess Diaries I knew the background of the story so found this book really easy to follow.
A brilliant read whatever your age and I am sure as young girls we all dreamt that something like this would actually happen to us!...more

These letters take both childern and adults alike to the magical world of the North Pole, beautifully discriptive and fabulously written. Whenever I read anything by Tolkien I am always blown again that they were written so long ago but are still very relevant....more

When I first saw the illustrated cover I was intrigued as the book looked really eerie and foreboding and thought the book would be a horror, the synopsis really doesn't give much away. Whilst reading the book I was reminded of the X-Men series and Miss Peregrine definitely resembles Xavier.
For my own 35 years old mind the book was a little too far fetched but I can imagine if I had read this as a young adult I would have been engrossed.
Basically, the peculiar children all have their own unique gift and live in a special 'loop' like time capsule keeping them a secret from the outside world. The story follows Jacob who for years has been told fascinating stories by his beloved Grandfather of a lady who turns into a bird or the boy who has bees living inside him. As he grew older Jacob began to suspect Abes' tall stories were because of his wild imagination. But after the untimely death of Grandfather in suspicious circumstances he realizes he may not have been telling stories at all.......more
