It's actually not funny at all. I had an extremely unpleasant experience over the first book, which is detailed in my review.
Yeah I read your review. I'm sorry that you had such an awful experience. It was ridiculous what you went through :(
You most certainly didn't miss anything by not reading it. I think it might have actually been worse than the first one.
honestly, having read these books and having enjoyed them, i will say this, there is no world in which they need to ever be read. the best word i can use to describe them is "fluff"
they're riddled with flaws, and just downright stupid sometimes, but somehow i found the romance to be sweet and compelling, despite the book having no merit whatsoever in terms of plot, or chracter development, or world building. And i'll tell you why. it's like your 2 year old neice who insists she's going to be a giraffe when she grows up. you can see all the glaring holes in that plan, but it's so freaking cute that you can't bother to tear her dream apart and tell her why it doesn't work. you simply smile and feel warm inside while she draws spots on herself to practice.
you are missing NOTHING by skipping this entire series. but i still get why people liked it. there's just something about it that's heart-warming, in a complete nonsense, don't go poking holes kind of way.
