I've found setting boundaries incredibly important in instances where my role and responsibilities have continued to scale as a PMM, but the access to resources has stayed the same. One of the most important ways to set these boundaries — be incredibly transparent about the projects you are working on. I recommend committing to a quarterly roadmap and sharing it with your most important stakeholders, while also building project plans that outline important milestones and contributing tasks for each individual project. All of the tasks associated with the work above will surface in your sprints. This level of transparency will not only help set boundaries, but will create healthy negotiations and trade-offs when new work is introduced.
Regular breaks throughout the day can significantly reduce stress levels and prevent burnout. Whether it's stepping away from your desk for a short walk or taking a lunch break away from your workstation, these pauses provide mental relief from the demands of product marketing. Encourage a culture where taking breaks is seen as a necessary part of maintaining productivity, not a sign of laziness. This small change in routine can lead to more sustainable work habits.

There will be times when what you are doing works and what you are doing doesn’t work. If you manage your expectations like a coin flip, you will be right 50% of the time. As long as you expect 50%, you will be right 100% of the time.

Sharing challenges and solutions with peers can provide new perspectives and reduce the feeling of isolation that often accompanies burnout.
