Once you have established the scope, size, and root causes of the problem you're trying to solve it's time to look at solutions. More often than not people like choices and leaders are no different. The skill is in the choices you offer. Much like offering a child the choice of vegetables or no vegetables they will typically choose the latter option, however by offering them beans or carrots they are still free to choose however the result is they eat vegetables. A good understanding of the problem you are trying to solve and a goal state you are trying to achieve will help shape the solutions you ultimately develop and offer.
