I done this test because I could not find a recent data set with every browser I use compared together.
These amounts were found out by visiting the top 10 most visited sites according to Brave Search data:
Google.com, Youtube.com, Facebook.com, Amazon.com, Wikipedia.org, Instagram.com, eBay.com, Apple.com, Reddit.com and Yahoo.com
All websites had accounts signed in and all browsers used either Ublock Origin or the browsers native ad block (Safari used Adguard for Mac) Ad blockers were the only extensions enabled and private mode were turned on for all browsers to ensure the least amount of personal data was shared with the sites.
There are 2 sets of numbers, and they are categorized by High and Average. High is the max amount of ram found to be used during the testing and average is well the average amount found during testing. Testing time was 4 minutes per site.
Now the numbers:
Browser | Windows High (MB) | Windows Avg (MB) | Mac High (MB) | Mac Avg (MB) |
---|---|---|---|---|
Chrome | 1603 | 1444 | 2219 | 1966 |

Brave | 1471 | 1288 | 1874 | 1798 |
Firefox | 2308 | 2143 | 3239 | 3077 |
Vivaldi | 1698 | 1463 | 2213 | 1906 |

Opera | 1723 | 1545 | 4075 | 3810 |
Safari (macOS only) | - | - | 2480 | 2213 |
Note: Safari is exclusive to Mac. Sites were visited at the same time on each browser.

Just saw it in Windows Update. Can't find anything on it support wise so not sure of the changelog.
Still labeled KB5039304 just like 26100.994.
Installed with no problems.
Hello can someone recommend a piece of software that will analyze two large drives. I want the software to tell me what files the drives have in common, what files drive A has that drive B doesn't have, and vice versa. I don't mind paying for something quality. I imagine it will have to run all night to configure. Thanks!
I am beyond pissed. How is it that I search in my downloads for a document using it's name exactly yet it isn't the first result on my list. Not even the 10th. What am I doing wrong here??? and whose great idea was it to search by date??? how about you search by what the ef i search for in the gosh darn search bar! ugh
I just bought a Yoga 7x with the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite (32GB variant) and I love it so far but I'd like to report a software bug related to Dolby Atmos for Speakers.
In a total random way, in some occasions during boot the relative Dolby Atmos service crashes as you can see in this event log (where also other minor crashes happen during sleep, but those don't lead to anything noticeable):
When this occurs, Dolby Atmos for Speakers suddenly stops working and the internal speakers have no spatial processing at all, like shown here:
In order to fix it, it's just necessary to try rebooting the laptop again hoping to be more lucky for Atmos service + spatial sound to stay on boot:
This will work until another reboot is needed (where, let's say, 1 time out of 3 may lead to Atmos crash again right now).
Other than this annoyance, I'm having a really good time with this laptop so I really hope Lenovo/MS/Qualcomm will fix it soon.
Let me know if you also encountered this bug and in case if you managed to find a better workaround/fix.
Cheers,
-P
Every once in a while I find that I have to do this and it JUST is so aggravating that it's unintuitive and snaps back all the time. I just want a simple registry hack off button that stops that behavior. Something in the windows modding communtiy HAS to have figured out a flag for this right
I have updated to version 23H2 and my pc has been booting up 4 seconds slower than before, is this normal? My bios time was 14 seconds exactly, now it’s 17.9 seconds
is there a way to either rebind or deactivate the ctrl + windows + d hotkey, as i press it sometimes while gaming and it is anoying me
Ram ✅ Secure boot ✅ Tpm ✅
Cpu ❌
Instead of replacing it with arguably the worst mailing client in software industry, aka New Outlook..
Which one is better? Is local account really safer? Do you get more privacy with a local account or is the same amount of data shared with Microsoft either way?
I'm a bit curious, but is there a way to enable Remote Desktop on Windows 11 Home Edition? I got Hyper-V on the Home edition from a cmd prompt that I entered and wondered if there's another one for Remote Desktop. Is there one?
possible? and if so, for free ofc, please? and thank you.
I’m getting a new pc soon and all the ones I can find have windows 11 pre installed. I know that I can’t stay on windows 10 forever, but I REALLY don’t wanna use 11 because of all the ai crap it shoves down your throat. Lots of people have suggested using Linux instead, and while I have considered it, I really don’t think I want to go through the hassle of getting my games to work on there.
So the question is: Is there, or will there be any way to completely remove all ai functionality from windows 11? And I don’t just mean toggling it off. I don’t really trust Microsoft make it stay off. I mean, is there a way to completely purge all this ai bullshit from my pc? Like, completely uninstall it without any chance of it randomly coming back? No recall, no copilot, none of that. Is that possible? Or will it at least be possible in the future?
