My use-cases will mostly be note taking, watching movies or occasional gaming. I do have a m1 pro macbook so i mostly consume content on that and also the heavy lifting too.
I am willing to know if i would be better off with ipad air saving a decent amount. I am worried about,
-
is there a significant difference in 60hz vs 120hz for note taking.
-
The display, is it good enough on air?
-
any other things i should be worried about?
I will be buying ipad once and will be using it for like next 4 to 5 years or more, so i want a sustainable piece.
Hello all! Long time Android/PC user, and teacher in a high school where all the students are given an ipad to work with. Some colleagues work with an ipad too, and I've seen how easily they use the notes option as a whiteboard, connecting the pad to the classrooms' projector.
I have interest in Procreate, too. I've been using a Galaxy Tab S6 lite with Sketchbook, but it's just not the same. I'd like an upgrade.
Then... I've seen a pack with iPad 10th gen + pencil 1 for ~500€. Do you think it's worth it? Coming from the Android world, Apple is quite expensive. I have read a lot of comparisons between the 10th and the iPad air 5, which looks quite like an upgrade, but will cost me ~600€, + ~120€ for the pencil 2. Almost 50% extra.
So: for a casual, school-work oriented, Procreate dabbler, tight-budgeted & first time Apple user: will the 10th be enough, for 500€?
Thank you in advance!
Hi guys don’t know if this is the right subreddit to put this on but I need help!
I have a 6th gen iPad and im out of storage. I only really use it for art and drawing and I wanna reset my iPad so that any excess files are deleted, but I don’t want to loose any of my old artworks. Is there anyway I can back up the art files and get them back after resetting the iPad?
Best Buy currently has the M2 12.9 256GB iPad Pro on sale open box for $1,250 CAD (or ~$911 USD), is there any reason why I shouldn't purchase it? Alternatively, I could get a refurbished M1 12.9 256GB for $1,149 CAD on the Apple refurbished site. For context the M4 13 265GB retails for $1,800 CAD.
I intend to keep this device until it pretty much cannot function anymore (went from a 2013 MacBook Air to an M2 MacBook Air, iPhone 6s to iPhone 13PM), but can't justify the $651-$550 difference between the M1/M2 and the M4.
Any experiences on Best Buy Open Box Apple Products is greatly appreciated, especially if they're from the Canadian Best Buy!
Hello, I was joking about doctor. But the problem is real. I used only Clip Studio app for working on my art commission, and youtube music for listening while I was drawing. For not more that 30-40 minute, the iPad got hotter and hotter to the point that if you place your hand for 1 centimeter over it you can feel a little bit warm, and if you touch the screen you can feel like touching a mirror of a car that's left under the noon sun in summer for at least 30 minutes.
I usually attached coolpack on it or placed a bit wet towel to reduce the temperature. While both are works, I don't know how I could use the iPad without those cooling items. Is this normal? What should I do?
I bought it for only 9 days
I'm thankful for your kind suggestion and explanation.
Hi, So I need help Transferring photos from ipad to PC, But When I transfer the photos to my PC, I want it Gone from my ipad. any suggestions, tips will be appreciated. Thanks
Hi all
Bare with me here, i know the iPad 2 is stupidly old and out of date but im trying to avoid it going in the landfill as it could be useful. I have a use case for this iPad which is to view PDF files (motorcycle workshop manuals) as well as storing and viewing photos. Surely this iPad can achieve this?
I am new to iPad's so I'm unsure how i am supposed to transfer files over to it? I am a Linux user but i do have Windows machines also. Do i need to use iTunes?
As for the PDF reader... all the apps in the app store are incompatible with this iPad. any works arounds?
Thanks in advance.
Planning on upgrading my iPad Pro 12.9 M1 256gb on my birthday. Mainly looking to upgrade just for the OLED screen and weight reduction.
I have 3 Questions - A) I am confused between S9 ultra, iPad Pro M4 B) If iPad which size should I consider? 11 or 13 inches C) I want to save my money so I am not sure what size is the best? 256/512gb.
I just use my ipad for media consumption, studying browsing and other light weight stuff. I often use websites such as GMAT Club / Target Test Prep to write mocks and solve questions.
I don’t use my iPad for work at all. I’m a financial consultant by profession so most of my work is on Excel/Powerpoint and for which Microsoft is the best platform by far.
I already have a macbook pro m2 edition and a macbook pro intel i5 2020 edition but I often don’t use it! I prefer using my windows laptop for work (Excel and Powerpoint shortcuts) and for other things I often boot my ipad due to its ease of access and size!
I don’t prefer a laptop as much, I either prefer to use my iPad or my windows PC. I don’t intend to use the tablet as laptop replacement, but as a tablet with occasional access to laptop like abilities.
BTW I am a big OLED addict - I have 2 separate top end OLED monitors and 2 OLED TVs so I am used to this tech and crave it on tab as well.
Recently went to Power Mac to buy a Magic Keyboard for my Ipad pro 11 m2 chip (4th gen) however, I didn’t bring my ipad with me since it was unexpected. However, when I asked for the unit of the Magic Keyboard they gave me the one that’s for ipad pro 3rd gen and ipad air 4th gen. Since I wasn’t sure if it would be compatible I decided to skip it. And when I looked at their website they didn’t have any stock for my unit. So may I ask, is the magic keyboard for ipad pro 3rd gen and ipad air 4th gen compatible to my ipad pro m2 which is 4th gen?
Dumb discussion but do you think it’s possible to buy an iPad Air and change the screen with an 120hz one?
I hope that apple do something in the size of the OS in the devices because it is very big size this time like now 11 GB the total size in the iPad that mean that I take about the 17% of the total size of my iPad Air M1 64GB apple should do something here what do yo7 think ? Tell me what we should do ?
Hey,
Does anyone know a way to charge an ipad air while using an external storage plugged on it ? I known there is only 1 port but is there any accessories that can allow this ?
I am going into my first year of university, taking a BSC and have made the decision to buy an iPad for university. I am not concerned about the prices I just wanted to know what model would be the absolute to use and is reliable with enough storage space.
This August I'm starting school again and they're no longer lending laptops. I was debating between getting an iPad and a laptop. I don't have much money either and my mom and I are also split on what to get. She tells me to get a laptop and I want the iPad. I can't get both sadly. If any suggestions on what to get please add links or places on where to get the items. Thank you! Edit: I'm currently in a dual program which leads me to do both highschool and college at the same time. So the college thing is just me getting "freshman" year of college out of the way and jumping straight to sophomore or junior depending on how many classes I can do by the end of senior year of highschool. I hope this gives a bit of insight on some of the questions asked about the classes I have.
