- Motivation
The Wikidata property Lygaeoidea Species File ID (old) (P11311) is an identifier for Lygaeoidea Species File (Q115641818), one of a number of curated taxonomic databases covering insect orders. However, last September all the Species Files databases were frozen, pending a migration to Taxonworks, which is now almost complete. However, the ID numbers in the new Species Files databases are different, so it is not possible just to change the Formatter URL. As the old identifier will continue to link to the archived version of the old Species Files database, this proposal is to create a new Lygaeoidea Species File identifier, as was recently done for the updated Orthoptera Species File database (see Orthoptera Species File taxon ID (new) (P12785)).
