I am a consultant based in the UK specialising in the application and use of computing and IT in libraries. I have been working in Library and IT services within the Higher Education sector for about 20 years. Before becoming an independent consultant I worked at the West Middlesex Hospital, Institute of Child Health, Royal Holloway, University of London, Imperial College London and The Open University. I have contributed to the OpenRefine data cleaning tool and I'm interested in the potential for integration between OpenRefine and Wikidata. I'm particularly interested in improving information about bibliographic resources such as books, journals, serials, etc.

I currently work as an independent consultant working mainly working with libraries and universities. In 2018 I worked as a Data Analyst at mySociety (Q10851773), primarily working on projects aiming to to gather consistently-structured data on every elected representative in the world. That work was funded by a Wikimedia Foundation (Q180) grant to help improve the level of political information within Wikidata. You can follow along with that at Wikidata:WikiProject every politician. I aim to make all my edits in compliance with Wikimedia Foundation policies, and this Wikipedia's polices on neutrality and conflict of interest. Accordingly, I declare that:
Disclaimer: A proportion of edits made using this account will be as part of employment contracts, but some will be made out of general interest.
