Mac OS X Lion (version 10.7) is set to be the eighth major release of Mac OS X, Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers.
Lion was publicly unveiled at Apple's "Back to the Mac" event on October 20, 2010. It takes developments from iOS such as the App Store to the Mac. It is scheduled to be released in summer 2011.[1][2]

- Launchpad Application launcher, gives an iOS like icon grid of installed applications. Multiple pages and grouping apps in folders which function the same as folders in iOS.
- Full-screen apps Native, systemwide support for full-screen applications.
- Mission Control Overview of running applications, integrating other Mac OS features including Exposé, Spaces, Dashboard, and full-screen apps.
- Multi-Touch gestures
- Auto save
- Apps resume when launched
- Scrollbars appear in the content area of the window and autohide when not scrolling.
- FaceTime is introduced for the Mac.
