Hi,
Tomar Rajputs wiki has tons of non-notable people listed therein. I've placed a week's warning for deletion of non-notable names in the talk page. However since I don't know who actually you can consider notable in the Tomar community, I request if a member of WPRoject Rajasthan could do the same?
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.
Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

I have been working on Rajasthani people for some time now. Please have a check of it and do tell what else can be added. Thanks --Onef9day Talk! 06:16, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Rajasthan articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release
Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.
We would like to ask you to review the Rajasthan articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.
We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

WikiProject cleanup listing
I have created together with Smallman12q a toolserver tool that shows a weekly-updated list of cleanup categories for WikiProjects, that can be used as a replacement for WolterBot and this WikiProject is among those that are already included (because it is a member of Category:WolterBot cleanup listing subscriptions). See the tool's wiki page, this project's listing in one big table or by categories and the index of WikiProjects. Svick (talk) 21:28, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Merger of Marwaris into Rajasthani people or vice-versa
Since Marwaris are part of Rajasthani people, i would like to propose the merger of Marwaris to Rajasthani people. --Onef9day Talk! 08:14, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Are all Rajasthani people called Marwaris?. I mean if there are exceptions (even a minute percentage), it is better to keep the articles separate.--Sodabottle (talk) 09:32, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- The term Marwari means people who live in Jodhpur, Jaipur,Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, Pali, Jalore, Nagaur (more specifically Marwar) and whose native language is Marwari ( a dialect of Rajasthani). However today this term has come to mean a businessman from the State of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Moreover many well known marwaris are not from Marwar region for example Birla family. Birla family hails from Pilani. So Marwaris should mean Marwari skeaking people from Marwar. There is a section specific section about business class in rajasthani people article. I think we must merge marwari to rajasthani people. if it is not a just move then marwari article must be rewritten to reflect what it really means. --Onef9day Talk! 10:19, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- As per Govt. of Rajasthan website and this other site Marwaris and Rajasthani people are not synonymous, the latter being a much larger group. Marwar region is mainly the southern Rajasthan or Jodhpur region, so can't be all Rajasthan, which also has Muslims, and Jains, besides Rajput clans..even Meenas and Bhils, and nomadic tribes. I believe the confusion can be solved in the intro of Rajasthani people, it be clarified, or disambig added. Thanks! --Ekabhishektalk 11:07, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thats a better idea than merger. the Rajasthani people lead should be clarified to make it clear.--Sodabottle (talk) 12:09, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- The term Marwaris carries larger meaning than people of Marwar only. Today marwari does not indicate a person from Marwar. It is understood that Marwaris are mainly traders. They are from Haryana also in addition to Rajasthan. If one goes to North-East India all Rajasthani and Haryanvi people doing business there are called Marwaris. Rajasthani people term includes all castes and communities living in Rajasthan or people speaking Rajasthani language. I think we should keep these separate.burdak (talk) 13:15, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Alright, as per the consensus we must add relevant info in the lead to clarify it. Plz let me know what should be added to lead. thanks --Onef9day Talk! 21:01, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
