Costume Designers Guild Award for Excellence in Contemporary Film

The Costume Designers Guild Award for Excellence in Contemporary Film is one of the annual awards given by the Costume Designers Guild.
The 1st Costume Designers Guild Awards in 1998 presented a combined award to honor achievements in film costume design without any genre distinction; it was split into Excellence in Contemporary Film and Excellence in Period/Fantasy Film the following ceremony. Since 2005, the latter award has been further divided into Excellence in Fantasy Film and Excellence in Period Film, two separate categories.
