Own work based on: Invasion1941.jpg and German Advance on Moscow, 1941.jpg These maps, which track the Axis invasion of Russia from June to August and August to December, respectively, from the Department of History, United States Military Academy Atlases. They were used to modify German lines of advance in the original map to conform more army advances to add the pockets of surrounded Soviet troops.
Advance boundaries up 9 September were slightly modified using Map 4. Summary of Operations, 22 June-30 September 1940 from Glantz, David M. (2011) Operation Barbarossa: Hitler's Invasion of Russia 1941, History Press ISBN: 9780752468426.
Changes also include more labels, addition of rivers and towns, and small adjustments to boundaries.
