  • Better picture?*

The charcoal picture is nice, but since he's alive, isn't there some better picture available? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.234.217.82 (talk) 04:37, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure there is, the problem is finding one that is not copyrighted. The drawing is made by an editor, and serves the purpose nicely, I think. Lampman (talk) 08:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    Pass/Fail:

Wow, I've been watching this page and the work you've done on it is impressive. A few quick concerns before I can pass it as a Good Article:

  1. "As the party split between communists and social democrats in the early 1920s, Lie ended up on the latter wing. The bitter strife between the two factions did much to influence his life-long anti-communist stance." (Early years) This sentence is confusing out of context. What party are you talking about? You're definitely talking about something that hasn't been introduced yet here.
  2. "He then started working as secretary for the party." (Early years) Again, what party are we talking about here?
  3. "His experience with authoritarian states — fascist or communist — helped convince him that the free world had to stand united against the threats of dictatorship." (Early years) That's not really a very neutral sentence, and could be reworded to conform to NPOV standards
  4. All one-two sentence paragraphs must either be expanded or merged with surrounding paragraphs, as they cannot stand alone. (There's only one; at the end of (World War II))
  5. "Yet Lie was stronger in his support of the United States, and more fierce in his anti-communism, than most in his party. In 1961 a splinter part emerged, known as Sosialistisk Folkeparti." (Reconstruction) requires a citation
  6. The first reference and the first external link are the same. The third reference and the second external link are the same. The seventh reference and the third external link are the same. In all these cases, it's redundant to have the external link version and they should be removed.

To allow for these changes to be made, I am placing the article on hold for a period of seven days, after which it may be failed without further notice. Thank you for your work thus far. Cheers, CP 20:51, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Lampman (talk) 11:26, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work. I will now be passing the article as a Good Article. An expansion of the lead would be my only other suggestion at this time, but as it stands it's good enough for the status. Congratulations, and thank you for your hard work! Cheers, CP 19:23, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
