True spelling of Kutch/ Kachchh
[edit]True and official spelling of Kachchh is Kachchh. This spelling is also correct to its pronunciation. Spelling Kutch was in use during british rule. User Captainktainer has changed my editings for correct spelling mentioning that it is giving problem with established style. I would like to know what is the established style? When, where and how this style is established? and why it is giving problem for using correct spelling of Kachchh. I insist to use of spelling Kachchh. pruthvi 18:54, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Check the spellings in all of the article sources. All but one source has the name of the district as Kutch. As such, Kutch is the appropriate terminology to use. Captainktainer * Talk 05:14, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- They are external links not the source. The web-site are from private organisation and bear little relevance to article. Postal Department is most concerned with spelling of place. First web-site mentioned below is official web-site of postal department of India. I have also mentioned other government agency and reliable sources showing spelling of Kachchh.

Spelling for the Kachchh in map in article is wrong. I am also removing wrong spelling of Kachchh based on the discussion above pruthvi 17:02, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- Dear Pruthvi, why dont we just look at the official government website for the district and that should settle it:

- How collectorate of Kachchh web-site is more official than other official web-sites such as postal department of India. As far as spelling is concerned it is mentioned earlier that Kutch is traditionally used spelling and Kachchh is modern spelling. No doubt there may be still many people using old spelling. But the fact that Kachchh spelling exists in official documents, testifies the fact that people want to use phonetically correct spelling for their place as it was the case with Kolkata and Mumbai. As far as Wikipedia is concerned, personally I like spelling Kachchh should be used nevertheless I have no problem if somebody wants to contribute using Kutch. However if only contribution is to change the spelling in article is objectionable because it implies that other usage is wrong, which is not the case. pruthvi 13:02, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Kutch District is the official name and as per policy, v shld stick to that. In case of Bombay and Calcutta they hv been officially renamed Mumbai and Kolkatta respectively, hence thts a totally diff scenario. In case of Kutch, the official name remains Kutch. Buldhmins?
[edit]Under "Food and drink" there's the following: "The majority of the population is vegetarian. Jains, Buldhmins and some other caste perform strict vegetarianism." Does anyone know what was meant by "Buldhmins"? Thanks. 69.234.41.168 (talk) 09:14, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Arne Adolfsen, 17 August 2010
