Duke L'Orange

[edit]

"Every now and then he'll go off on his own idea without being prompted, a throwback to the days when he was the leader of a gang, The Brotherhood of the Blade. It doesn't always turn out too well, of course."

Can anyone tell me of more than one occasion when he went off alone, or any occasion when he did and it turned out badly? The events of one episode don't warrant such a generalization. As such, I think this should be omitted, possibly replaced with a simpler reference to The Brotherhood of the Blade (which he does indeed call by name in "To Catch A Duck"). -HamatoKameko 06:29, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no canon scenes that shows him going off on his own all the time. The fans who write fanfiction will make him go off on his own, but in the show itself he never did but for one occassion to try to trap Falcone, but that was THE only time that he ever went off on his own. - 69.19.14.23 14:28, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Precisely my point. One instance does not indicate a frequent action. I agree with the removal of the reference. -HamatoKameko 20:43, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, any references to him running off on his own beyond that one time, doesn't mean he does it all the time. If Disney brings them back and they show Duke running off to do a solo mission, then maybe it would be something to mention but there is no more eps forthcoming. It is only in fanfiction does this occurance happen. --Ladyducaine 15:15, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Disambiguation Page

[edit]

I feel that when one searches "mighty ducks" it should immediately go to a disambiguation page since the NHL hockey team and the film are probably more notable than the television show. Rpgman456 17:56, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me. I thought it was a bit odd that "Mighty Ducks" went straight to the cartoon article. -HamatoKameko 15:26, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mallory McMallard

[edit]

Despite extensive research into the details of the series, as well as the related comics, I have never, ever, seen anything to point to Mallory having the middle name of "Christine." Contributors please keep in mind that this article is canon, not fanon. In other words, information given in fanfiction is not to be stated as fact. If you have proof that Mallory has such a middle name in the canon, please cite it. -HamatoKameko 15:38, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mallory is claimed to have an older brother that died. In the show, there was no mention of an older brother. I have video taped all of the episodes when they were on and there was no mention of an older brother. This mere fact that she has an older brother is only fanfiction related, not canon and only done in fanfiction stories to give her a reason to be in the military. If anyone has proof as in fact that Mallory did speak of an older brother, please state the name of the episode that it was in, so I can listen for the comment and double check the validity of the claim, but for now it is only related to fanfiction and does not belong here on this page. Thank you. - 69.19.14.23 14:28, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mr. Wise, the head writer, has stated himself that she did indeed have an older brother, and her military involvement is essentially an attempt to replace him. I have not, however, had the time or inclination recently to look for the reference where this was said, and thus have not myself inserted this information into the article. If the citation cannot be located, I agree that the information should be removed until such citation can be found. -HamatoKameko 20:40, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unless Mallory talked about him in The Human Factor but if it was mentioned after the series was done, even though the information could be considered canon because it came from the writer, I watched the episode The Human Factor and there was no mention of a brother. --Ladyducaine 15:52, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
She's right, there was no mention of it in the episode The Human Factor. I watched the episode on Youtube and where you think she would be talking about him, there is nothing mentioned. So I would call it additional canon information, but very useful for fanfiction stories if anyone wants to use that as a subplot for one of their stories. --69.19.14.26 15:59, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, it should be called additional canon information. I know I will most likely rewrite one of my stories to make mention of her older brother, so it would give the stories a sense of being in canon and yet still be fanfiction. Now to figure out a good name for him. That will not be too much of a problem for me. hehe --Ladyducaine 23:39, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode: "Zap Attack"

[edit]

"Zap Attack" is similar to episodes of many other cartoon shows, not exclusively Transformers. In fact, many Mighty Ducks episodes bear striking resemblance to episodes of other cartoons (in particular the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, which was handled by the same lead writer). This is not an uncommon occurrence in television, occuring in virtually ever genre (cartoons, sitcoms, even reality programming), and does not make "Zap Attack" notable as a "rip-off." -HamatoKameko 05:51, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article is for "canon," not "fandom."

[edit]

There is at least one user at current, by the name of Karategal, insistent on inserting information from fanfiction into the article(s) concerning this series. It should be noted that this article should only state canon information as in-universe fact; even if information is missing in the canon, such as character ages or family members, that does not give the editor license to insert fan-created information of any kind.

An additional note to the editor by the IP of 69.19.14.23:

I don't know what gave you the idea that I've been inserting "fandom" into the articles, but considering the extensive research I've personally done on the series (including a notebook that is quite full), I am greatly offended by the accusation. Since you clearly have not been paying attention, I should like to point out that I have been, up to now, virtually the only person to notice and contest that nonsense. I would appreciate it greatly if you would not slander me, particularly on my own user page, when you clearly do not know what you're talking about. And if you're going to persist in such vandalism, at least have the nerve to log in when you do rather than hiding behind the relative anonymity of your IP address. A warning (and I see you have quite a collection) is forthcoming. -HamatoKameko 20:50, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The user Karategal seems to want to put fanfiction plots into the articles for the Mighty Ducks. She needs to look to the bottom of the page for the Fanhistory link and go there to see what the fans have done as in posting their fancreated characters and put her plots on her own page there. This page is for canon characters, no fan characters at all, which includes information leading to the canon characters, nothing else. --Ladyducaine 15:22, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What was the reasons why Beak to The Future was not aired more often.

[edit]

Maybe because the parents complained that one of the villians became a snake or that it showed the destruction of a city. There could be many reasons why this paticular episode was not aired like the rest of the episodes were. But I do believe that it was possibly because of one of the villians becoming a snake and that when they reaired the series on ToonDisney that the tragedy that happened in New York caused Disney to pull this episode from the line-up. And that is possibly why they refused to air it again - because of the memory of the Twin Towers were too fresh in people's minds and the kids might believe that Anaheim was blown up. --Ladyducaine 14:11, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

Mighty DucksMighty Ducks (TV series)Mighty Ducks cartoon is not obviously the primary usage, it should be a DAB page or redirect to the current DAB page The Mighty Ducks (disambiguation). —132.205.99.122 20:11, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]
Any additional comments:

Makes perfect sense to me. It seems the NHL team should be the main entry. Mighty Ducks (tv series) sounds like a fair title. --HamatoKameko 04:16, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The first movie or the article on the movie's series might have even more weight than the team--it came first. The team was based on the movie and is currently occupying Anaheim Ducks, which is the new name (previously 'The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim'). Also, right now the movie article title has "The" in front of it, but I think "Mighty Ducks" should redirect to "The Mighty Ducks" since anyone searching for the movie is likely to leave out the "The." The series is by far the least notable and probably least searched for purposely. So to sum up, I vote for "Mighty Ducks" to be a redirect to "The Mighty Ducks" (the movie) and the show be moved to "Mighty Ducks (tv series)" as requested and the team stay "Anaheim Ducks." Moved.

DAB

[edit]

The DAB is no longer needed at the top because of the "(TV series)" addition. Also, the film and the team are mentioned within the first paragraph. Mac OS X 19:42, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MightyDtvs.jpg

Did Disney sell the Animated Series along with the hockey team?

[edit]

If they did sell the Animated Series with the hockey team back in 2005, is there a chance the new owners might return the show to TV? Or that the cartoon series is still in the hands of Disney? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:5B0:28FF:1EF0:0:0:0:39 (talk) 16:00, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Given that the cartoon is now on Disney Plus which didn’t exist yet when you asked that, I would guess that Disney still owns the cartoon (or bought the cartoon back). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.200.115.29 (talk) 01:51, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
