HYOU1
Hipoksijski nadregulirani protein 1 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom HYOU1.[5][6][7]
Protein kodiran ovim genom pripada porodici proteina toplotnog šoka 70. Ovaj gen ima tri iRNK zbog upotrebe alternativnih mjesta za transkripciju. Cis-djelujući segment nalazi se na 5' kraju egzona 1A, koji je uključen u indukciju ovisnu o stresu. Transkript koji počinje s egzonom 1B prvenstveno je induciran hipoksijom, što rezultira nakupljanjem ovog proteina u endoplazmatskom retikulumu (ER).
Smatra se da protein kodiran ovim genom igra važnu ulogu u savijanju proteina i lučenju u ER. Budući da je potiskivanje proteina povezano s ubrzanom apoptozom, također se sugerira da ima važnu citoprotektivnu ulogu u ćelijskim poremećajima uzrokovanim hipoksijom. Pokazalo se da je ovaj protein nadreguliran u tumorima, posebno u tumorima dojke, pa je povezan s invazivnošću tumora.
Postoji i alternativno mjesto za translaciju ovog gena kojem nedostaje signalni peptid. Ovaj protein bez signalnog peptida je samo tri aminokiseline kraći od zrelog proteina u ER-u, a smatra se da ima funkciju održavanja u citosolu.[7]
