tested on 2002-08-20-08-1.0
Mac OSX JA
1. launch Mail&Newsgroups 
2. Set Character coding to GB2312  
3. Create a message having DBCS character onto Subject/Body
4. Send it to yourself
5. Once receive, hikight it then set Edit/Character coding to GB2312
6. Select Tools/Search/Search Messages
7. Set like subject contains XXXX which is specified on step3 
8. Click search button
9. You won't see this message in search result
   But GB2312 is set to display language at 
   Preferences/Mail&Newsgroups/Message display, search does work 
   properly.
   Mail&newsgroups's search bar in 3 panes does work when Character
   coding set/Gb2312 on View/character coding.

"Preferences/Mail&Newsgroups/Message display", setting this is a requirement.

Are there any problems even after set that pref?
