If you click on several folders quickly in succession, you'll see status
messages indicating that all their headers are being downloaded at the same
time. I think clicking on the second one before the first one has completed
downloading should cancel the first before starting the second.
Target M17.

moving to future milestone. you can use stop to prevent the previous folders
from finishing loading before you select the next one.
Target Milestone: M17 → Future
This also happens when you click on a newsgroup and then unsubscribe. It
continues downloading and never deletes the .msf file. Annoying, but not
terribly serious.

As far as I can tell, this bug is WFM.

I'd be surprised, Joshua - I think we keep downloading headers when you switch folders, for both imap and news...but I could be wrong.

I'm not sure this would be desirable behavior

Summary: clicking on several folders in succession downloads them all → clicking on several folders in succession downloads them all - click another folder should terminate the previous folder
I don't think this is what we want. I'm not sure if this is about folder responsiveness. We do want whatever folder you're looking at to be responsive and updated. So if you run out of connections this behaviour is probably the desired behaviour; but that might be a different bug.
The behaviour as described in comment 0 is still there => NEW.

On the one hand, multiple parallel downloads are desired behaviour, imo.
On the other hand, this freezes my mailnews window if I switch to another program and try to come back.

We definitely need multithreaded UI.
