English: The Cape Horn was a steel-hulled four-masted barque, built 1888 by Russell & Co Port Glasgow, Yard No 184 for Armement A. Dom Bordes & Sons, Dunkirk. Dimensions: 305.8 × 44.6 × 24.2 ft (93.2 × 13.5 × 7.3 m). Tonnages: 2,626 GRT, 2,557 NRT. Equipped with cellular double-bottom water ballast tanks with a capacity of 601 tons in addition to 1,200 tons in internal tanks. Rigged with royal sails over double top- and topgallant sails. February 1892 grounded in fog near Calais when arriving from Iquique with nitrate. January 1910 collided with the German steamship Heinrich Horn and lost her bowsprit while cutting off the steamship's funnel. 1923 scrapped in Belgium.[1][2]
