English: A limer, also known as a lymer, lyam, lime-hound, or limier, was a kind of dog, a scenthound, used on a leash in medieval times to find large game before it was hunted down by the pack. Limers were different from bandogs, which were a guard dog or watchdog controlled by a leash, (typically a chain).
