Dear community, I am honoured to present Mjrmtg as a candidate for adminship on Commons today. Mjrmtg has been very active on Commons for a long time and has made more than 149000 edits. He has expressed his interest to be an administrator here. He has participated in many DRs and done a lot of good maintenance and categorisation work. Also, he is familiar with Commons' policies and guidelines. Given his current activity level, we do not need to worry he will disappear anytime soon.

In addition, he is a patient, conscientious, compliant and stable user who will try to help out as much as he can. I believe that if he is given the tools, he will be a valuable asset to our current admin team. I hope the community shares the same impressions as me. Thank you. I was surprised to be considered for nomination. As seen from my user page, I've created hundreds of categories. I enjoy creating categories so items can be put in appropriate places, and then also finding photos that can be put in more appropriate categories. I've contributed over 11,000 photos, mainly of south Georgia (U.S. state), but also north Florida. I accept this nomination and look forward to helping anyone with new responsibilities. --Mjrmtg (talk) 13:18, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Oppose Sorry, i have to change my voting to oppose. The user does not know what admins are doing exactly. He does not know what admin buttons are and to which tools a admin has access. He fails to reply correctly to my question. Apart from that: He is doing a good category work and this is of course appreciated (keep up your good work!) :-), but under the given circumstances i don't feel comfortable with giving him access to +sysop. --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:19, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Neutral. No intersections with user... --Brateevsky {talk} 11:57, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what buttons you are referring to, but if an administrator has access to buttons I'd use them responsibly and appropriately once I knew what they do. --Mjrmtg (talk) 10:24, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Which buttons (special functions) does admins have? --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:12, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Since I'm not an admin, I cannot see the buttons admins have access to so I cannot answer your question. --Mjrmtg (talk) 12:00, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mjrmtg: If i understand it correctly you don't know (yet) what admins are doing and to which tools admins having access? --Steinsplitter (talk) 12:07, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct. I do not know yet what tools admins have access to. If you could point me in the right direction, I can read up on them. --Mjrmtg (talk) 16:41, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mjrmtg: I would advice you to read Commons:Guide to adminship then. Trijnsteltalk 22:06, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the link, I've bookmarked the page and have started reading through it. --Mjrmtg (talk) 01:41, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I do not personally know the rules for each country. You can find the rules here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Freedom_of_panorama if you have any questions about them. --Mjrmtg (talk) 12:00, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that Steinsplitter asked for a link. I believe he wants to know if you can interpertate copyright law and Commons policy correctly. Natuur12 (talk) 12:03, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
After reading the Frredom of panorama section, I do not believe new buildings in most of Europe are allowed, but I would definitely check with others before I'd feel comfortable tagging them as not being allowed. --Mjrmtg (talk) 16:41, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No apprenticeship programs. I knew well, what buttons I will get and what they are doing, because I was an admin before in a different projects (in et.wiki and outside Wikipedia in a wiki-based site). Taivo (talk) 12:26, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Still you don't need to know which button doing what. True user can't know them before he become admin, but you definitely have to know at least that admin can delete/undelete files and can block other users. -- Geagea (talk) 12:38, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
