Privacy--the photographed individual requests that photo be deleted Ntfd2003 (talk) 22:15, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- Keep nonsense request and COM:INUSE. Günther Frager (talk) 22:21, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- weak keep: can we attempt to verify with that the ip user is in fact the subject of the photo? Jdcollins13 - chat 22:48, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- How would you like to verify? Ntfd2003 (talk) 22:57, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- The image appears in Google results for searches with the word "terrorist," so it is unsafe to have it up at all Ntfd2003 (talk) 23:00, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- Speedy keep per COM:INUSE, COM:NPOV and the Flickr review statement. It's regrettable for a photo to be misused that way, and that should be condemned, but it doesn't mean that a photo of a veiled woman cannot be hosted here. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:28, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, but the original request is because the individual asked for it to be taken down. Ntfd2003 (talk) 23:42, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- My point is, how do we know the subject us the ip user or not. I think we can attempt to verify that the subject is the one requesting, by make a inquiry to the image author on Flickr, asking if the photo model wishes the photograph to be removed.
- Side note I agree with you and Ikan Kekek, it’s unfortunate usage, but doesn’t preclude hosting and usage on Commons Jdcollins13 - chat 23:57, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- The original Flickr page listed is not found. http://flickr.com/photo/43896901@N00/4708585962
- Wikimedia seems to be the main place it's getting published from.
- Can we not remove it from Wikimedia with verification from the individual photographed? Ntfd2003 (talk) 00:20, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Ntfd2003 Don't manipulate the link, the original one works perfectly fine: https://www.flickr.com/photos/43896901@N00/4708585962. Günther Frager (talk) 00:35, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Please don't accuse me of manipulating links. I copied and pasted what was in the Wikimedia page. Ntfd2003 (talk) 02:48, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

- The photo was taken 13 years ago in France, the IP that claims to the subject is from Salem, Oregon. If the photographer knows the model already, then the model wouldn't have any problem asking him to remove her photo and contact Commons, verifying his request is trivial. Günther Frager (talk) 00:31, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Speedy keep You make a good point, if the subject wanted the photo removed it makes sense that they would want it removed from Flickr, and contact the photographer to communicate that. That’s at least anecdotal evidence against the ip user being the subject of the photo. That’s enough for me, I’ll switch my vote to speedy keep. I suppose it can be revisited if any actual verified request from either the author or subject surface. Jdcollins13 - chat 01:50, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- The subject and I had not been able to find the original Flickr photo. The link I posted is what I found on Wikimedia. We are trying to contact Flickr as well. Can you please tell me how the subject can verify their identity to your satisfaction? They are on standby and waiting for Wikimedia to remove a photo of themselves. This is their likeness in the photo. You're debating a real person's image. Will you listen to her and tell us how to verify? Ntfd2003 (talk) 02:51, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- I don't think we should remove a much-used photo even if the subject wants it removed. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:16, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
