  @Basile Morin: Padum is reached via the Darcha-Padum road. This runs over the 16,580 ft (5,050 m) Shiko La pass which is closed for 6 months. Tagooty (talk) 13:38, 13 July 2024 (UTC)

  @Tagooty and Basile Morin: It can also be reached via the older road from Kargil over the 4,400 metres high Pensi La pass--which also closes during winter, or via the recently completed, yet to be blacktopped, all-weather road from Leh, which runs right next to the centuries old Chadar trek which was the only means, until this year, of reaching Padum in winter. Thanks for the info. My impression is only based on the picture : big road with distant focal point, and then above huge mountains with snow. It gives the feeling that after this road there's a path, and climbing up this path leads to the top. I'm sure it's much more difficult, and that's probably why the picture is interesting.
