English: A MARRIAGE CONTRACT, QAJAR IRAN, 18 DHU'L HIJJA AH 1243 (1 JULY 1828 AD) Persian and Arabic manuscript on paper, with 21ll. of black nasta'liq describing the terms of the marriage, an invocation in Arabic in gold riqa' above, copious seal impressions and signatures surrounding the main text, illuminated heading- 28¾ x 17in. (73.5 x 43cm.)
