Abisco or Pajaten Culture, 900 - 1400 AD

64 x 221 cm (2' 1" x 7' 3") -- CAT #15894

Three repeated motifs of a figure with a feline head, bird's tail and a fish in its stomach. Two appendages become the monkey's tails. A headdress holds two fish at either side.

Parts have been replaced from a similar piece that was found with it and was probably originally attached to one side of this panel. (clearly visible).

Painted, basket weave ( paired warps and wefts ), cotton
