Description
English: Almost Gone
Bowes Station, built by the South Durham & Lancashire Union Railway and opened to passenger traffic on 26 March 1861. This building was once two storey despite being only a village station. It closed on 22 January 1962. After looking at pictures taken in the mid 1990's it is surprising how much of the building has fallen down.
