Description Fifteen volunteers joined Pinedale Field Office staff at the 40-acre New Fork River day-use recreation area near Pinedale, Wyoming, for a successful National Public Lands Day. Old fencing was removed to provide greater access to the river from the parking area, wildlife-friendly fencing was installed around the perimeter, and three combination bird and bat boxes were installed. This 40-acre parcel is a vestige of the homesteading era when surrounding land was settled and this piece of land was overlooked. Now, it offers a scenic recreation spot for fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing a few minutes from town.
