Summary
[edit]DescriptionBritish Pillboxes from World War II in Akraberg in Faroe Islands.jpg |
English: British pillboxes in Akraberg, which is the southernmost place in the Faroe Islands. Flesjarnar and Munkurin are the southernmost rocks in the Faroe Islands, they are visible on this photo. Munkurin (the Monk) is a bit to the right for the other three rocks, it is lying by itself, that is why it is called the Monk (Munkurin). The Faroe Islands were occupied by United Kingdom, while Denmark (which the Faroe Islands belong to) was occupied by Germany. The view on this photo is towards south.
