Description
The elevation of the fountain bears a statue of Ulysses, on whose face can be read a fierce determination. Ulysses is represented at the discus during the games. Ulysses is represented at the discus, during the games organized by Alcinoüs: Odyssey, strophe VIII-186: ... without leaving his cloak, Ulysses stands up and seizes a disc larger, thicker and more heavy than those which the Phaeacians had used... "
