[edit]DescriptionFlickr - Israel Defense Forces - Brig. Gen. Doron Gavish Visits Iron Dome System.jpg |
March 12, 2012 Terrorists in the Gaza Strip have fired more than 200 rockets since this Friday, striking major population centers in southern Israel. More than one million Israelis are under the threat of rocket fire. Pictured above is the Iron Dome System, which intercepted 56 rockets aimed at population centers in four days. The Commander of the Aerial Defense Division, Brig. Gen. Doron Gavish referred to the Iron Dome: "This system is a game changer--we can now actively protect civilians in the line of fire. The Israeli people are strong and resilient, but this situation is still very difficult. More than 200,000 children can't go to school because of these attacks."
