English: A U.S. Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion, loaded with equipment from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, prepares to enter the well deck of the USS Wasp (LHD 1) as the ship steams off the coast of Camp Lejeune, N.C., on Oct. 8, 1997. The Landing Craft Air Cushion, or LCAC as it is more commonly called, is a hydrofoil craft used to ferry troops and equipment for amphibious landing operations.
