Summary
[edit]DescriptionLanglee Housing Estate - geograph.org.uk - 554619.jpg |
English: Langlee Housing Estate. Viewed from near the spot where in 1832 Sir Walter Scott "sprang up with a cry of delight" - see 554611. This scheme was built in the 1950s on the south side of Melrose Road while the scheme on the opposite side of the road was built in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Both schemes comprise about 1200 houses. A recent housing scheme by Melrose Golf Course can be seen at the foot of Eildon Mid Hill in the distance. Unfortunately the white wall finish stands out in the landscape. |
