Ten estudos de Filoloxía Inglesa, inda que a maior parte da súa vida profesional desenrolóuse nos Hirmáns Misioneiros de Enfermos Pobres como auxiliar de enfermaría, onde tamén tivo a oportunidade de impartir cursos de castelán para extranxeiros e inglés.
