Description
English: A real-valued time series C converted into a [dimensionality 8, cardinally 3] SAX word baabccbc (The colors here are for illustration purposes, they are not part of the SAX representation). Top to bottom) The time series C is first z-normalized, then converted to a Piecewise Aggregate approximation, CPAA. The two breakpoints that would divided a Gaussian curve into three equal regions are calculated (-0.43, 0.43) and the three regions are used to map the PAA segments into three discrete letters of the SAX word, a, b or c.
