Deutsch: „Neunmal von Silber und Blau geteilt, überdeckt von einem durchgehenden roten Kreuz, das mit einem goldenen Herzschild belegt ist, darin auf schwarzem Berg eine rote Zinnenburg mit nach vorne gerücktem Spitzentürmchen“. Bedeutung: Das rote Kreuz steht für das Kurfürstentum Trier, die silber-blaue Schildteilung ist dem Wappen von Luxemburg entnommen und die Burg symbolisiert die Saarburg, die aus dem Stadtwappen der gleichnamigen Stadt entnommen ist.
English: The arms were granted in 1970 and are mainly based on the arms of the former district Saarburg. The castle is slightly changed and an additional background is added with the bars of Luxembourg, as a large part of the district historically belonged to Luxembourg.
