Nederlands: Het weiland naast de boerderij van de familie Janssen aan de Zecksteeg 24 in Ede. Op de plek van de vier bomen in het midden stond tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog een schaapskooi waar eind september/begin oktober zo'n vijftig Britse parachutisten werden ondergebracht die na de Slag om Arnhem in de regio waren achtergebleven. In diezelfde perioden werden naast de schaapskooi vijf Nederlandse SS'ers door het Edese verzet geliquideerd. Op de achtergrond is de A30 te zien,
English: The grassland which belongs to the farm of the family Janssen at the Zecksteeg 24 in Ede. During WII there was a sheepfold at the location of the four threes in the middle of the picture. After the battle of Arnhem in september 1944 fifty British paratroopers where given shelter, before they return to there own forces during Operation Pegasus. On the same location and in the same periode five Dutch members of the Schutztafel where executed next to the sheepfold. On the background you can see the highway A30. |
